HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) -- More inmates from the Blair County Prison are walking free after the courts granted bail reductions to help cut down the prison population.
The prison has been operating with around 220 inmates, releasing roughly one-third of its normal population since the start of the pandemic.
A decision by the Blair County Court of common Pleas allowed for the release of inmates charged with violent crimes, including one waiting to be tried for attempted homicide.

JACKSBORO, Tenn. (WZTV) — A man from Jacksboro, Tennessee charged with illegally killing two elk on North Cumberland Wildlife Management Area (NCWMA) last November, pleaded guilty to charges in court last week.
In a plea agreement, 34-year-old Preston William Douglas was found guilty on two counts of illegally taking big game. Douglas had his hunting license revoked for five years, is banned from NCWMA for three years, and was put on supervised probation for three years.

PITTSBURGH (WJAC) — Former Pittsburgh Pirates' 2B Neil Walker, who was honored prior to Saturday's game, will announce the team's first overall selection at the MLB Draft in Denver. Walker, who spent seven seasons in a Bucs uniform, recently retired from Major League Baseball following a 12-year career.
Walker also announced that he will join the AT&T SportsNet broadcast booth later this season, beginning on Aug. 13th.
