AUBURN, Wash. (KOMO) — A suspected victim is recovering from a gunshot wound after she reportedly defended herself during an attempted robbery. Police in Washington responded to a shootout Tuesday morning in the parking lot outside of an Auburn Walmart. Auburn police said two armed suspects attempted to rob a a 53-year-old woman sitting in her vehicle. When the suspects demanded the woman's "property," she drew a gun and shot at them, according to police.

Officials identified the boy as Vince Rietscha IV, of Ebensburg. Authorities say the boy was flown to UPMC Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh following the two-vehicle crash on Duman Road (Route 271) which also claimed the life of a 23-year-old Nanty Glo man.
