Woman fights back during attempted robbery at Walmart parking lot

AUBURN, Wash. (KOMO) — A suspected victim is recovering from a gunshot wound after she reportedly defended herself during an attempted robbery. Police in Washington responded to a shootout Tuesday morning in the parking lot outside of an Auburn Walmart. Auburn police said two armed suspects attempted to rob a a 53-year-old woman sitting in her vehicle. When the suspects demanded the woman's "property," she drew a gun and shot at them, according to police.

Boy dies from injuries suffered in Rt. 271 crash, medical examiner confirms

2nd UPDATE |Cambria Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office confirmed to 6 News that the 6-year-old boy who was injured in Monday's crash in Blacklick Township has passed away. Officials identified the boy as Vince Rietscha IV, of Ebensburg. Authorities say the boy was flown to UPMC Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh following the two-vehicle crash on Duman Road (Route 271) which also claimed the life of a 23-year-old Nanty Glo man.

Conemaugh Health System offering up to $30K in sign-on bonuses for Registered Nurses

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — Conemaugh Health System is hosting a career fair and offering tens of thousands of dollars in sign-on bonuses for certain positions until the end of the year. The career fair is scheduled for Nov. 17 at the Conemaugh East Hills Outpatient Center located on 1450 Scalp Ave. from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Free parking will be available on site and CamTran will provide transportation, officials say, and masks will be required.

Jennerstown Speedway hosting 2nd annual Motor Mountain Masters

The Motor Mountain Masters is a premier late model race and is one of the largest of its kind in the country.
