Pittsburgh (WJAC) — According to reports from multiple NFL Insiders, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett is not expected to miss a significant amount of time after suffering a knee injury in Sunday's blowout loss to the Texans. NFL Insider Ian Rapoport says Pickett reportedly suffered a bone bruise to his knee after being sacked near the end of the third quarter. Reports indicate that Pickett could have the opportunity to play this Sunday when the Steelers host the Ravens.

Warrant issued for suspect in Indiana Borough homicide, female in custody

UPDATE:INDIANA, Pa (WJAC) — Police in Indiana Borough have issued an arrest warrant for 20-year-old Isaiah Moore, of Philadelphia, in connection to the shooting death of a 20-year-old male early Saturday morning. Indiana County coroner Jerry Overman identified the victim as Jaedyn Wright, of Pittsburgh. Investigators say Wright was shot in a parking lot, near Carriage House Apartments, around 4 a.m. Saturday. Police identified two of the four suspects in the shooting as Moore and and 17-year-old Isabella Edmonds.

Fishertown man charged for assaulting troopers while trying to harm himself, PSP says

Bedford County, PA (WJAC) — State police in Bedford County say a Fishertown man is behind bars after he was accused of assaulting multiple troopers who were trying to prevent him from harming himself. According to the affidavit, troopers were dispatched to a residence in East St. Clair Township, on the morning of July 4th, after receiving a report that 34-year-old Joseph Gorsuch was attempting to harm himself. Investigators say the troopers arrived at the home and witnessed Gorsuch reportedly harming himself with a knife.

(AP) — Storm chasers spotted a tornado on the ground Monday in rural Oklahoma while large hail pelted parts of Kansas as forecasters issued a rare high risk warning for the two states with the possibility of long-track twisters. The greatest risk of damaging weather includes areas in Oklahoma, such as Sulphur and Holdenville, still recovering from a tornado that killed four and left thousands without power late last month. Both the Plains and Midwest have been hammered by tornadoes this spring.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A judge has barred enforcement of an executive order signed by Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney last week banning guns and deadly weapons from the city’s indoor and outdoor recreation spaces, including parks, basketball courts and pools. Common Pleas Judge Joshua Roberts on Monday ordered Philadelphia “permanently enjoined” from enforcing the order after a legal challenge, citing Pennsylvania state law that prohibits any city or county from passing gun-control measures, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

Proposal for outdoor rec area at Centre County Prison slowly advances

The idea is now moving forward, but it's still a slow process. After issuing an RFQ request for qualifications last month, the Centre County Commissioners say only one company responded to the idea of further studying the feasibility of adding an outdoor rec area at the county prison.

Woman threatened local magistrate hundreds of times, police say

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Authorities in Cambria County say a Colorado woman is behind bars after she reportedly threatened a local magistrate, as well as her former employer, hundreds of times over a period of several weeks. Jackson Township police say the investigation began in mid-March after they learned that a woman, later identified as 46-year-old Sarah Byrne, had been repeatedly harassing staff members at the office of Magisterial District Judge Mary Ann Zanghi.

Biden administration moving ahead on $1 billion arms package for Israel, sources say

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Biden administration has told key lawmakers it is sending a new package of more than $1 billion in arms and ammunition to Israel, two congressional aides said Tuesday. It's the first arms shipment to Israel to be announced by the administration since it put another arms transfer — consisting of 3,500 bombs — on hold earlier in the month. The administration has said it paused that earlier transfer to keep Israel from using the bombs in its growing offensive in the crowded southern Gaza city of Rafah.
