Man guilty of rape in case using DNA from 1995

Bellefonte, PA (WJAC) — A Mifflin County man was convicted Thursday by a Centre County judge for the 1995 rape of a Penn State student. Scott Williams was found guilty of rape by forcible compulsion and aggravated assault by Judge Brian Marshall. Prosecutors tell 6 News' Gary Sinderson the action was a stipulated bench trial where the defense agreed to the two charges presented to the judge. The judge approved a bench trial, a non-jury trial, for Williams in December.

Miniature poodle named Sage wins at Westminster in handler's final show

A miniature poodle named Sage won the top prize Tuesday night at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show, in what veteran handler Kaz Hosaka said would be his final time at the United States' most prestigious canine event. After 45 years of competing and two best in show dogs, he plans to retire. Sage notched the 11th triumph for poodles of various sizes at Westminster; only wire fox terriers have won more.

PA lawmakers look to propose bill that would implement a four day work week

Johnstown, Pa — Pennsylvania lawmakers drafted a bill that could implement a four day work week. 6 News spoke to State Representative Joshua Siegel of the 22nd legislative district who says this bill would be a tax credit based incentive, but on top of that it is pro family, pro community and pro Commonwealth. “A number of states are beginning to sort of experiment and explore with the idea of a four-day work week,” said Representative Siegel.

DuBois woman charged with DUI for causing crash that seriously injured couple

Clearfield Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities with the Sandy Township Police Department have filed charges against a DuBois woman following an investigation into a two-vehicle crash that took place last September. According to the affidavit, police were dispatched to the crash, in the area of Mountain Run Road and Route 255, on Sept. 2nd. Investigators say the driver of a 2005 Jeep Cherokee and the driver and passenger of a 2012 Ford F-150 all suffered injuries in the crash.
