WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (AP) — A woman has been acquitted in the death of a 4-year-old girl who central Pennsylvania prosecutors say was left for hours in a hot sport utility vehicle.
Jurors deliberated for about three hours Friday before acquitting 30-year-old Brittany Borgess of involuntary manslaughter, child endangerment and recklessly endangering.
Lycoming County Senior Judge Dudley Anderson found her guilty of the summary charge of leaving a child unattended in a car and fined her $25.
September is officially National Service Dog month.

Weeks said the evidence child predator hunter groups provide are not enough to make an arrest.
“For us these groups are the same as a regular citizen calling 911 or calling the police and making a complaint of a crime,” Weeks said. “We take it very seriously.

Clearfield Co., PA (WJAC) — Officials in Sandy Township have asked a judge to put a hold on the municipality's consolidation plans with the city of DuBois until the investigation into suspended city manager John "Herm" Suplizio has been completed.
According to a complaint filed on June 1st, the township is seeking a pause on the merger due to ongoing concerns over the city's financial situation.
"It was discovered that the City's financial information upon which the recommendation for consolidation, the consolidation plan and the consolidation agreement were based was inaccurate and incomplete,"
State College, PA (WJAC) — Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford will use his extra year of eligibility and return to the Nittany Lions for one final season in 2022.
Clifford, who is a redshirt senior, made the announcement on social media Friday.
According to his Penn State football bio, he is one of 11 Nittany Lions with 5,000 career offensive yards.
