(AP) — “Jackass” star Bam Margera punched his brother in the face during an altercation at their home in the Philadelphia suburbs, then took off on foot, Pennsylvania State Police said Monday in announcing criminal charges. An arrest warrant was issued for Margera, 43, and police said they were looking for him. Johnstown city council withdraws proposal for homeless shelter funded by American Rescue Plan Act

Johnstown city council met for a regularly scheduled meeting this evening. The potential construction of a non-congregate homeless shelter was once again on the agenda. The funding for the shelter would come from the city’s American Rescue Plan Act grant through the HUD Home program. The city received only one proposal that met the required criteria. That proposal was from Victim’s Services and was tabled at previous council meetings. Today, council voted to withdraw it.

Centre Hall firefighter injured in garage fire caused by downed power line

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Officials say a firefighter was injured Wednesday afternoon during a structure fire in Centre County. Emergency officials say the fire appeared to be caused by a downed power line that made contact with a garage located on East Potter Avenue in Centre Hall. The fire happened just before noon knocking out power for about 1,000 residents. Officials say a Centre Hall firefighter reported receiving an electrical shock.

State College man sentenced to jail time, probation for killing passenger in fatal DUI crash on Rt.

Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — A State College man who pleaded guilty to charges related to a fatal DUI crash on Route 322 in August of 2021 has been sentenced. Alexander Hynoski appeared in Centre County court Thursday where he was sentenced to serve 16 to 32 months in the Centre County jail, followed by 52 months of probation. Hynoski was charged in May of last year in the death of 20-year-old Elizabeth Biddle, who was the passenger in Hynoski's vehicle.

Tragedy at Bedford County Fair 40 years ago sparked changes in ride safety

BEDFORD – As many are still shocked by the tragedy at the Ohio State Fair this week, some locals are remembering the death of a young girl at the Bedford County Fair 40 years ago. In 1977, 14-year-old Amy Gilbert was at the fair, on a ride called the Zipper. Gilbert’s obituary said the ride was coming down from its top height, and tilting forward when the door flew open.

Indiana man fled scene of fatal Route 119 crash; was found intoxicated at hotel

Indiana County, PA (WJAC) — State police in Indiana County say a local man is behind bars for reportedly causing a fatal crash along Route 119 late Thursday night. Troopers say first responders were dispatched to the two-vehicle crash scene, located in Center Township, around 11:30 p.m. Thursday. According to the affidavit, the driver of one of the vehicles, later identified as 28-year-old Elias Jimenez, of Indiana, had reportedly fled the scene prior to the troopers' arrival.
