Johnstown man Brian Giles charged with homicide in wife's death

UPDATE:Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — Authorities have released new details about the investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Giles and the arrest of her husband, Brian Giles. Brian Giles was taken into custody Friday afternoon and charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault and hindering apprehension. Authorities say Brian's wife Nancy was reported missing on October 23, 2018 and her body was later discovered along the James Wolf Sculpture Trail in May of 2019.

Judge in Trump's classified documents trial cancels trial date without replacement

MIAMI (TND) — Judge Aileen Cannon, the federal judge appointed by then-President Donald Trump who is overseeing his classified documents trial in Miami, abruptly canceled the trial's already-long delayed start date Tuesday. The case has had multiple fits-and-starts, especially concerning the formal start of the trial, since Trump was indicted over a year ago by a federal grand jury in Miami on almost 40 felony counts related to violations of the Espionage Act and conspiracy to obstruct justice.

Mom charged in toddler daughter's death after alleged 'exorcism'

SAN JOSE, Calif. (TND) — A 3-year-old girl's death, now ruled a homicide, allegedly followed violent attempts to "exorcise" demons from the toddler. Arely Naomi Proctor died in September 2021 after family members attempted to “liberate her of her evil spirits,” officials at a Northern California church told the San Jose Mercury News. The Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner-Coroner ruled Arely's death a homicide by asphyxiation, according to the Associated Press.
